Buddhism teaches a concept of the still pond reflecting the perfect image of the moon. This image represents our “Buddha Nature” or natural state of the pure being. However, as the water is disturbed so does the image. This disturbance of mind often seems permanent, or who we are. The Five Openings is a way to identify and understand these disturbances of mind. Upon completing a journey you will have a glimpse into the causes and effects of these disturbances and eventually come to see their transitory nature. This is a taste of peace.
